Remote Monitoring
Audio challenge alongside a CCTV system is a great deterrent for unwanted guests at residential or commercial properties.
Netgenium offer three main solutions depending on which remote monitoring company you use to help secure the premises.
Integrated Netgenium and third-party monitoring solution and Netgenium IP Audio Solutions
Non-integrated third-party monitoring solution and Netgenium IP Audio Solutions

Netgenium IP Speakers and IP Audio Gateways integrate with both Netgenium and partner software solutions that are used for remote monitoring. Netgenium NGxControl Plus PC/Server software or partner software that include Sentinel, Milestone VMS, Genetec VMS and HikCentral VMS software are currently supported.
The software solutions communicate directly with Netgenium products through the IP network and, depending on which software is used, can include functionality, such as:
- Talk to a single IP speaker
- Talk to groups of IP speakers
- Listen to a microphone connected to the IP speaker
- Play pre-recorded messages stored on the IP Speaker or IP Audio Gateway
- Trigger physical outputs on the IP Speaker or IP Audio Gateway

Non-integrated third-party monitoring solution and Netgenium IP Audio Solutions
Using an IP Audio Gateway alongside IP Speakers is a great solution as the monitoring software being used is largely irrelevant.
This is because an audio feed is taken from an NVR/DVR and connected directly to the IP Audio Gateway Line In port using an RCA phono cable. The IP Audio Gateway then streams any audio from the NVR/DVR to a single group of IP Speakers installed on the IP network. The software used at the monitoring station simply needs to be able to talk to the NVR/DVR audio out port and the solution will work.
It is also possible to activate pre-recorded messages stored on the IP Speakers. If the monitoring station can activate physical outputs on the NVR/DVR and the outputs are wired into the physical inputs on the IP Audio Gateway, the IP Gateway will send commands across the IP network instructing the IP Speakers to play pre-recorded announcements stored on the IP Speakers internal memory. The IP Audio Gateway has 4 physical inputs so potentially up to 4 different messages could be played on up to 4 different groups of IP Speakers.

Third-party monitoring solution and Netgenium PoE Powered Speakers
Our new range of PoE Powered Speakers could be an incredibly cost effective and simple option, especially if you don’t need the functionality of an IP audio solution.
Powered by PoE, taking the audio feed directly from a CCTV camera through an RCA Phono lead, the installation couldn’t be easier. The remote monitoring station software will need to be able to talk to the CCTV audio out and the PoE Powered Speaker will do the rest.
Some CCTV cameras such as Hikvision AcuSense and Dahau TIOC have the ability to play alarm sounds or pre-recorded messages on events such as Line Crossing or Motion Detection from a speaker built into the CCTV camera itself. Once connected to the PoE Powered Speaker, the alarm sound or pre-recorded message will play through the PoE Powered Speaker achieving the volume levels and audio quality of a loudspeaker.
We’ve tested the solution with a 10-metre RCA phono lead so you can certainly install the PoE Powered Speaker away from the camera to make sure that the audio challenge covers the area you need.
