Policy Server

Netgenium Policy Server software is designed to run on a dedicated Windows server platform and provides users and operators with the ability to:
Integration with Milestone XProtect CCTV The Netgenium Policy Server integrates seamlessly with Milestone’s XProtect CCTV server, providing pro-active event notification to the Milestone environment. Netgenium ACS incorporates an embedded Milestone Video Viewer, allowing the user to search for an event and view in a familiar format along with the Policy Server user library image if applicable. Centralised Control The Server offers the ability to run Access Control as a centralised model; as all of the Netgenium end devices are pure IP, the server may be deployed in a central location with remote site Card Readers and Netgenium IP Lock Controllers communicating directly with the central server without the need for legacy gateway technology. Track Users The Netgenium Policy Server software provides the ability to track users as they enter or leave building zones. The ‘Tracker’ feature allows the operator to build a heirarchical logical zone map that has the concept of zones within zones, so that a user can be tracked as they get further into a building. Example: Person enters Building A, then goes into Floor 1, and then swipes into the Comms Room. Permissions are configured via an intuitive ‘Rulebase’ that allows user groups to be given permission to go through doors against specified Time Schedules. These may also be cross referenced with Holiday Schedules to ensure the utmost level of security. User Control The server also supports two factor authentication (reader with PIN entry required). Lost cards can be ‘suspended’ on the server allowing a temporary card to be issued; the operator can then re-instate a card that is then found or delete it for good. |

Policy Server Software Overview By using the ‘Implied Rules’ feature, doors may be configured to adopt a certain state at any time of the day. Implied Rules is an automated rulebase that runs in the background; ideally suited for ‘semi secure’ buildings. Schools for instance can benefit with doors being allowed to be open during pupil arrival and leaving times, but otherwise secure throughout the day, requiring an Access Card to gain entry. Through integration with CCTV, cameras can be configured to adopt a PTZ preset upon card read events; this can be used for user verification (for use with the User Console application). | |
